Why filter tap water that's already treated?
Municipalities add chlorine so tap water stays safe on its way to your home. That's a good thing. But plenty of people don't like the taste or smell it leaves behind, so they end up buying bottled water.
This filter is for exactly that: making treated municipal water nicer to drink, straight from your own tap. It isn't a purifier and it doesn't treat unsafe water. If your municipality issues a boil-water notice, follow it.
The bottle maths
R5–R6per litre
That's roughly what 5 L bottled water costs at South African supermarkets. A household drinking 5 litres a day can spend around R800 a month on bottles.
R 499 once-off for the filter, plus a new cartridge when it's due.
Estimate based on 5 L pack prices at SA retailers in 2026.
Which flow, when
Flip the lever for filtered water, flip it back for full flow. Here's how most people use it.
Flip to filtered
- A glass of water
- Filling the kettle
- Water for cooking
Leave it on regular
- Washing dishes
- Wiping and cleaning
- Filling a bucket
Cold municipal tap water only, 5–38 °C. Never hot water.
Will it fit your tap?
Go and look at your kitchen tap, then answer three quick questions. If you're still unsure, send us a photo and we'll tell you before you pay.
1Which looks most like your tap?
2Is it a sensor (touch-free) tap?
3Is there a hand's width of space between the tap tip and the sink?
Who you're buying from
I'm Janz. PureFlow SA is my business, based in South Africa. I fitted this filter to my own kitchen tap before I listed it, so I can tell you honestly what the setup is like, including the fiddly part with the seal.
There's no call centre. WhatsApp me before or after you buy and you'll get an answer from me.
WhatsApp 081 829 8622Why does it say JEWIN?
We don't manufacture this filter. JEWIN is the brand on the unit and the box, and we leave it on because hiding it wouldn't be honest.

Fitting it takes three steps
Take off the tap tip
Unscrew the aerator at the end of your tap and match the thread to one of the supplied adapters.
Seat the seal flat, then tighten
Put the rubber seal in flat and hand-tighten the filter onto the adapter. Firm, not forced.
Run it and check
Open the tap, look for drips, then try both lever positions.
From our own testing: if it drips or feels hard to fit, the seal is usually sitting at an angle or the adapter is the wrong size. Take it off, re-seat the seal and try again. Full fitting guide

Questions people ask first
Do I need a plumber or tools?
No. It fits by hand with the supplied adapters and seals. A cloth helps with grip.
How long does a cartridge last?
It depends on how much water you filter and on your local water. Replace it when the filtered flow slows down or the chlorine taste comes back. Spare cartridges come with the package option, or WhatsApp us for more.
Will it leak or slow my water down?
Hand-tighten it firmly with the seal sitting flat. If it drips at the join, the seal is usually at an angle: take it off and re-seat it, or WhatsApp us and we'll help. Filtered flow is slower than full tap flow because the water passes through the carbon. Flip the lever for full flow whenever you need it.
Does it need electricity?
No. There are no electrical parts. It runs on your normal tap pressure, so it works when the power is off.
Can I use hot water?
No. Cold municipal tap water only, between 5 and 38 °C.
Does it make unsafe water safe to drink?
No. It isn't designed or certified to treat unsafe water. Use it with municipal tap water only.
What if it doesn't fit my tap?
Check first with the tap quiz above or WhatsApp us a photo. If you've ordered and it doesn't fit, you can return it unused within 7 days.
Our water came back brown after an outage. What now?
Switch the lever to regular flow and run the tap until the water runs clear, then switch back to filtered. That stops sediment from clogging the cartridge early.
How does the 2-filter price work?
Choose 2 filters and the price drops to R 900 automatically in your cart. No code needed, and standard delivery is free on that order.
What's in the package option?
One filter plus extra replacement cartridges, so you have spares ready. The extra cartridges come from a different supplier and may carry different branding. Need more spares? WhatsApp us.
How can I pay?
By card (via Yoco), PayPal or EFT. With EFT, our bank details are shown after you order and we send your order once the payment reflects.
Where do you deliver?
South African addresses. Standard delivery is free. Express is also available at checkout, where you see the final cost before you pay.
